The Arkansas Coordinated Child Effort in State Services (ACCESS, INC.) is the only agency in Jefferson County that offers prenatal and parenting classes exclusively to teen parents. Established in 1978 in an effort to combat the rising teen pregnancy rate in Southeast Arkansas it is the oldest and largest teen pregnancy prevention program in Jefferson County.
The demographics of program participants are pregnant and parenting teens up to age 19. This demographic group representing the Thrive Program participants is reflective of the population area we serve. Jefferson County has approximately180 unwed births to teens 15 to 19 per year.
